The curlers curve has to fit your eyelid curve.” Also, the curlers rubber part has to be checked frequently to make sure there aren’t any cracks because if used this way, you can cut your lashes. When using the curler, start with grabbing the eyelash root, very close to the eyelid. Follow by opening and closing the curler as you reach the ends of your eyelashes. While doing this motion, start moving your elbow in an upward position. Ai Sakai says, “you should bring up your elbow high enough to show your underarm.” Kumiko used Ai’s advice while trying to do this, and she found herself not conscious about bringing up her elbow being that she is not use to this motion. Once she paid more attention to doing this, her eyelashes curled up easily and well. After her lashes were curled, she put on pieces of false eyelashes. She then finished with mascara. Creating sexy eyes Today’s subject at Kumiko’s request is sexy, but appropriate enough for during the daytime. Creating a sexy look starts with the skin. Kumiko has dark circles under her eyes, so Ai gave her a face massage before applying her make up. This help for Kumiko to have better circulation in her face, so then Ai can applied primer to even out her skin tone. The base color concealer mixed with yellow concealer covers under eye circles, and dark and brown spots. The brownish spots and freckles will be covered by the mixed yellow base concealer. If a person has dull skin, they would need to use purple concealer. When mixing concealer, it can be difficult to create the correct color if one is not skilled. Anyhow, if you remember the rules of colors, that can help you to choose the correct color. The tricks to sexy eye make up are as follow. Use gray eye shadow. Keep eyebrows trimmed straight across instead of round. Use black eyeliner across the upper eyelash line, and brown eyeliner for one third across the bottom eyelash line. The purpose for only going one third across the bottom, is because it makes the eyes appear bigger. This product is excellent because after skincare you can apply it without using any other products for base, which helps to cut corners. It is important not to forget to apply around the edge of the eye line, and also to apply evenly all over the face. Working with pale colored eyebrows It is important to choose an eyebrow pencil that is a lighter color than your original eyebrow color. Ai picked MAC Fling color for Eiko. Ai recommended this color because it looks natural, and one can use it to create beautifully shaped eyebrows. Do not draw in, or shade in eyebrows. Your image should be to draw in eyebrow hair one by one. Fresh looking eye make up The trick to fresh natural looking make up when cutting corners, is eyeliner. Use brown eyeliner over and under eye line because if you use black eyeliner, it will make your eyes look too severe. Bring up your eyelid, and draw inside and outside of upper eye line. Extend eyeliner 1/16 to 1/8 outside corner of eye, longer and wider. This makes eyes naturally pop out. Draw eyeliner from outside corner 2/3 inward. If a person has never used eyeliner, they should start with pencil eyeliner. For eye shadow, apply on a small section of the eyelid for natural looking eye make up. If applied on the entire lid, it will create a harsh look. For those who have wider double lids apply on a thin section of the lid first, then open up your eye to check how the color showed up. Hair and make up artist Ai Sakai explains that when adults have dry skin, they produce excess oil. Ai’s advice for this situation, is to exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Also, give the skin extra hydration, which controls oil and balances out the skin. Ai says to first apply hydrating primer on the entire face. Then apply oil control primer around T-zone area. “Primer helps for the make up to last longer.” Working with uneven eyebrows After applying foundation, Ai worked with Miki’s eyebrows. Ai says many people have uneven eyebrows. Before beginning to draw, pick your better side eyebrow. Once done with the better side eyebrow, use that eyebrow as a guide to draw the other eyebrow. When trimming eyebrows, draw your eyebrow first, then trim unnecessary hairs around it. The beginning of the eyebrow may have different thickness, or may have different levels where they start. So beware of balance when drawing in, or eliminating brows. For Miki’s image to be more dramatic, her eyebrows need to be sharper. Also, the beginning to the highest point of her eyebrows need to be longer for her face to have a deeper illusion. Creating dramatic eye make up The black eyeliner is the most effective tool to create dramatic eyes for a party. This time Ai used gel eyeliner which draws on smoother, and limits smudging. This product dries out easily, so once you take the amount desired, close immediately afterwards. In Miki’s case, if Ai were to apply eyeliner over and under, it would make her eyes appear smaller. For this reason, Ai decided to apply eyeliner from beginning to end on the top and inside of the lash line, and from the end until 2/3 over on the inside of bottom lashes. Next Ai applies pale pearl eye shadow over the center of Miki’s eyelid. After, Ai used brown eye shadow over top eyeliner to blend in. Also, Ai used the brown eye shadow to gradate. Lastly, Ai used pale pinkish purple eye shadow under bottom eyelashes. This process helps for less smudging, and longer lasting eye make up. Then Ai fills in the outer upper eyelashes to make sure there’s no empty spaces in between each eyelash. People who have puffy eyelids tend to have their eyelids cover their eyeliner. In this case, open up your eyes and check in the mirror. Keep adding wideness little by little with the eyeliner to make the eyes pop. Also Sayako has asymmetry size eyes. Her right eye is bigger than her left eye. This is why the eyeliner on her left eye needs to be applied longer and wider than her right eye to give an even balance. Ai applies brown eyeliner under bottom lashes from outside corner 2/3 inward. Next Ai applies dark brown eye shadow underneath bottom eyelashes to give a droopy effect. This technique can also be used by people who have cat eyes, to make eyes look softer. Creating cute eye make up Ai says, “most people associate the color pink with being cute, but this is not true for Asian skin tones when using eye make up.” Purple color is a better choice for Asian skin tones. Before applying black eyeliner, apply purple eyeliner and eye shadow to the inner, outer, and lower parts of the eyelids to appear darkest, leaving the center part lighter. Ai recommends using false eyelashes instead of applying a lot of eye shadow, to give the eyes a natural pop. After using an eyelash curler to bring up your original eyelashes, apply individual false lashes with adhesive in between original lashes. Trick to facial structure is Blush Ai teaches a technique on how to make a long shaped face appear shorter by using blush. Ai’s advice is to apply blush on the cheekbones towards the temples for a longer effect. For a shorter effect, apply blush on the highest point of the cheekbones when smiling, and continue horizontally towards the ears. The main trick to creating different facial structures, is the level and position at which you apply the blush. Ai finished Sayako’s look with soft bold lipstick, and loose curled hair to make her look cute but mature. Yukiko’s facial features are type of centralized. Ai wants to broaden Yukiko’s facial features by applying darker eye shadow on the inside of the corner eyelids, and gradually make lighter towards the outer part of the eyelids, which is practical for most people with the same facial structure. To highlight Yukiko’s eyelids, Ai applied pale pearl eye shadow, then grey green eye shadow around the highlighted area. How to apply false eye lashes Ai used full length false lashes for Yukiko. First take false lashes from the case and rub them together. This step helps for the lashes to comfortably and naturally fit original eye lashes. If the false lashes are applied too close to the inside it looks unnatural, so start by applying false lashes ¼ inch from the inside corner of the eyes, then decide how far you want to extend the length of the lashes. The false lashes length can be cut to each individuals design, but it’s better to trim the corners of the false lashes to make them blend well with original lashes. After trimming, apply a drop of adhesive to each corner of the false lashes because the ends can easily come off after a while, then apply a thin even layer through the middle. Let adhesive dry half way, then start to apply lashes from inside corner to outer corner. Keep eyes looking downward until dry. Once false lashes are dry, you can apply mascara to blend with original lashes. Finish with blush Ai chose a pink beige colored blush similar to Yukiko’s skin tone, because her eyes are already dramatic enough. The pink beige color blush on her skin creates a glow and shade which makes her face appear 3D. Yukiko is self-conscious about not having full cheeks, which is why Ai started applying blush from the highest point of her cheeks moving towards the temple. Highest point can be found when smiling. This technique does not include the area under the cheekbones because Ai does not want to add more shade to these sections. To complete Yukiko’s makeover, Ai applied nude colored lipstick. Ai makes Tomoko’s eyebrows wider and straighter to make her look mature. She then shapes Tomoko’s eyebrows by making a straight body, then slightly narrowing down. Ai used wax, powder, and pencil type eyebrow liner to make originally narrow eyebrows appear wider. The first step is using pencil liner starting inside the eyebrow, and drawing in hair by hair extending outside the eyebrow. The second step is to use an eyebrow brush with a small amount of wax and powder to fill in any empty spaces. The reason for using the wax, is so that the make up will not wear off. Always remember to draw hair in one by one in all steps. Do not draw an outline and fill in eyebrows, because this gives an unnatural look. Secret to creating a mature look For people whose eyes are wide apart, using nose shadow on the sides of the nose will give eyes a closer effect. This technique makes Tomoko look mature. To create a nose shadow, use a medium wide round brush to apply matte brown shadow. Start on the inner sides of the eyes up to the beginning of the brows, and down to the sides of the nose to create a shadow. Tomoko’s droopy eyes make her face look soft and sweet. Ai applies shimmer brown eye shadow on Tomoko’s eye lids to make her eyes pop. Then she applies gel eye liner on the edges of her eye line to widen the outside corners of her eyes. After, use a pencil eye liner to blend in gel liner and eye shadow. Using sharp eye liner makes Tomoko look cool and like a career woman. After applying eye shadow, apply strong water proof liquid eye liner. Use eye lash curler to bring up eye lashes enough from the roots, then apply water proof mascara. Smudging occurs when eye lashes and eye lines touch under bottom eyelids each time they blink. This is the reason why using water proof eye liner and mascara is best. In Yuko’s case aside from using the above process, Ai also applied dark brown eye shadow under the bottom eyelids by starting narrow at the center, and continuing wider until the outer corners. How to apply bronzer Yuko is also self-conscious about her wide jaw. To make her jaw appear narrower, Ai used bronzer. When applying bronzer, use a brush with a slanted angle. Use the brushes’ slanted part on the widest part of the jawline making that part darker, and gradually blend to lighter. Avoid applying on the cheekbones, and check the mirror to help create an even balance. The reason for doing this is to help eliminate dark under eye circles, and to help brighten the skin tone by stimulating circulation. This process puts the skin in a better condition for applying even foundation. Next Ai applies Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting/Adjust to reddish sections of Misako’s face. Ai recommends this primer which helps to smooth out the skin and camouflage wrinkles, spots, and redness. How to apply foundation For Misako, Ai used cream type foundation. First apply foundation on the largest areas of the face, which are the cheeks and the forehead by using a foundation brush to help apply evenly. Careful when using a sponge, because a mark can easily be left on the face. Next, apply a lesser amount of foundation through the center area of the face. Lastly, apply foundation to the eye area. The skin around the eyes is very delicate, so it is better to use your fingertips when applying foundation. Once the foundation is applied, take a wet sponge that has been strongly squeezed well and gently pat all over the face to help unify the foundation with the skin, and avoid cakiness. After applying the foundation, use concealer on necessary sections of the face to create an even skin tone. An important rule to remember when concealing sections is choosing the right color to blend with basic concealer. Yellow concealer covers brownish sections, orange concealer covers blue sections, and green concealer covers red sections. For example, when a woman in her 20’s uses metallic or flashy glittery eye make up or lipstick, it makes her look lively, but for a woman in her 40’s, it will make her look tasteless. It is better to choose products that contain subtle glitter, and soft pearl to help brighten up the face for woman in their 40’s. To highlight the center of Misako’s eye lids, Ai used elegant pearl off white eye shadow. Then Ai used matte chocolate brown eye shadow on the inner, outer, and lower parts of the eyelids to appear darkest, leaving the center part lighter. To make the face look 3D, use a matte eye shadow that’s darker than your skin tone on the sides of the bridge of the nose. For Misako, Ai chose light beige pink lipstick to complete her makeover. Preparing to focus on lips Ai wants to use bright color on Eri’s lips, which is why she uses grey or black for Eri’s eye color. First highlight the middle of the eyelids, then apply medium grey eye shadow on each side of the eyelids while blending towards the center. Apply dark grey eyeliner above the lash line to make eyes pop. Ai used pencil and liquid type of eyeliner. First use pencil eyeliner on the inner upper eyelashes, remembering to fill in between eyelashes. Then draw inside from the inner corner 2/3 over, and draw outside of the lash line on the remaining 1/3. This process makes eyes appear bigger and makes them pop. Next use liquid eyeliner to draw outside of the upper eyelids by starting off thinly, and widening as you reach the outer corners and extend around bottom corners. Its helps to draw an outline first, and then go back and shade in. Ai says, “for a beginner who wants to use false lashes, temporarily apply false lashes (1/16 above your own lash line on the inner corner, and 1/8 above lash line on the outer corner) before deciding on how thick to make your eye liner.” Creating bright lips Ai chose a reddish lip color with an orange blend which brightened her up in dim settings. Ai used a lip brush to make a lip line from middle to each corner on top and bottom. Then Ai filled in her entire lips. After lipstick, Ai used a lip plumper to make her lips look full. This step is important because after patting lotion moisture has to be sealed in quickly, otherwise the skin will become even more dry because it was stripped of moisture from the inside and the surface. Camouflaging beard Masahito’s is self-conscious about his dark beard. Hair and make up artist Ai Sakai says, “Let’s use concealer to camouflage after shaving the beard.” Foundation can also be applied all over the face. Use base concealer that matches the skin tone and mix with a little bit of orange to cover the bluish color. To apply use a big round sponge by tapping the area softly (concealer can be bought at any drugstores cosmetic section). Now apply loose powder all over face to complete base. Eye make up is also important for mens make up. Lots of mens eye lashes are thicker and longer than womens, and lots of Asians have eye lashes that grow downward and straight which is why an eye lash curler is helpful. Use the curler to bring up the roots, and do not curl from the middle to the end which still gives a manly and natural look. Lastly, bring up the eyelid and use a pencil liner to draw inside the eye line to fill in. This technique gives a pop to the eye, and is good for people who present in front of others. Lastly, she applied foundation and concealer to complete base make up. Well trimmed eyebrows First shape eyebrows and pluck unnecessary hairs by pressing roots while grabbing the hair. Then pull out hair in the direction of growth while other finger holds skin in the opposite direction, which prevents pain. For women who are on their menstrual cycle skin can be more sensitive, so wait until cycle is finished to remove hair. After shaping eyebrows, use eye brow pencil to draw in empty spots hair by hair making sure that both eyebrows have an even balance. (NOTE: Ai explains more about eyebrow shaping in one of her other columns #629 and #637) Tip on how to apply mens eye make up Puffy eyes need natural eye make up affect. First use an eye lash curler to bring up eyelash root slightly (if eyelash is brought up or curled too much, that will give a girlish look). When looking from a side view eyelashes look downward, so bring up anywhere from horizontal to a 45 degree angle. For a person that has droopy or puffy eyes, eyelashes should be brought up to 45 degrees which makes eyes look more open. If eyelash curler shape does not match eyelid shape, then eyelashes will not curl well. In this case, one can use a certain type of curler that works for small sections to bring up lashes evenly. Next use an eyeliner pencil to fill in the inside lash line. Pay attention not to lack when filling in eye line, and creating an even balance. Lastly, to complete Hisamitsu’s look, Ai used lip balm to make his lips look fuller. How to use concealer When using concealer, choose one base color that matches your skin tone, and add a color concealer that will target your troubled areas. To camouflage dark circles or dullness use yellow, for bruising or bluish under eye circles use orange, for any reddish spots use green. This is the general rule on how to use concealer. After mixing the base and color concealer, apply small amounts to target areas by tapping around the edges to blend in which makes the skin look smooth. How to create summery make up Colorful bright summer make up should have a good balance and complement each other when combining different colors. First Ai picked out a fresh green eye shadow for Eiko, because green is a good match for Asian skin tone. Ai used a waterproof eyeliner without any worries of smudging in the sweating summer. Ai chose an orange blush which is a good match with green eye shadow. It is better to not combine the opposite colors on the color chart. When applying blush, use circular motions to create a cute look. Lastly, apply lipstick, and check to make sure all colors complement each other well. To highlight under the eye area, use pale pink purple eye shadow. This will make eyes brighter, and will not let smudging be obvious. After applying eye shadow, apply strong water proof liquid eye liner. Use eye lash curler to bring up eye lashes enough from the roots, then apply water proof mascara. Smudging occurs when eye lashes and eye lines touch under bottom eyelids each time they blink. This is the reason why using water proof eye liner and mascara is best. In Yuko’s case aside from using the above process, Ai also applied dark brown eye shadow under the bottom eyelids by starting narrow at the center, and continuing wider until the outer corners. How to apply bronzer Yuko is also self-conscious about her wide jaw. To make her jaw appear narrower, Ai used bronzer. When applying bronzer, use a brush with a slanted angle. Use the brushes’ slanted part on the widest part of the jawline making that part darker, and gradually blend to lighter. Avoid applying on the cheekbones, and check the mirror to help create an even balance. Let adhesive dry half way, then start to apply lashes from inside corner to outer corner. Keep eyes looking downward until dry. Once false lashes are dry, you can apply mascara to blend with original lashes. Finish with blush Ai chose a pink beige colored blush similar to Yukiko’s skin tone, because her eyes are already dramatic enough. The pink beige color blush on her skin creates a glow and shade which makes her face appear 3D. Yukiko is self-conscious about not having full cheeks, which is why Ai started applying blush from the highest point of her cheeks moving towards the temple. Highest point can be found when smiling. This technique does not include the area under the cheekbones because Ai does not want to add more shade to these sections. To complete Yukiko’s makeover, Ai applied nude colored lipstick. ヘア＆メイクアップアーティストのサカイ愛さんは、大人の乾燥肌では、肌が乾燥を防ごうとして皮脂を過剰に分泌してしまうと説明します。そこで、週2～3回の角質ケアをすることをおすすめします。 また、肌に十分な水分を与えることで、油分をコントロールし、肌のバランスを整えます。愛さんによると、まず保湿プライマーを顔全体に塗る。その後、Tゾーンを中心にオイルコントロールの下地を塗る。「下地を塗ることで、メイクが長持ちするんです」。 左右非対称のまゆ対策 MAC（アイブロウ クレヨン/フリング） 今回のモデル英子さんは、自分でメイクをするときの悩みがあるそうです。眉毛とまつ毛の色が薄いため、顔の印象がガラリと変わってしまうのだそうです。ヘアメイクアップアーティストのサカイ愛さんは、「作り込み過ぎない、ちょっと手抜きのメークというコンセプトにしましょう。」 まずは、日焼け止めSPF15入りで毛穴やシワを目立たなくするオイルフリーのジェルファンデーションを使用。スキンケアの後、下地や日焼け止めなど他のアイテムを使わなくても済むので、手抜きができる優れものです。 目のキワまで塗ることと（必要であれば顔全体に）均一に塗ることを忘れないようにすることが大切。 色素の薄いまゆ対策 手抜きメイクで新鮮なナチュラルメイクにするコツは、アイラインです。黒のアイラインを引くと目元が強調されすぎてしまうので、アイラインの上と下はブラウンのアイライナーを使います。まぶたを持ち上げ、まつ毛の根元ラインの内側と外側にアイラインを引きます。 アイラインを長めにするには2~5mmを目安に、目尻から長めに引きます。こうすることで、目が自然に大きく見える様になります。アイラインは目尻から目頭に向かって2/3程度の長さまで引きます。アイラインを引いたことがない人は、ペンシルアイライナーから始めるとよいでしょう。アイシャドウは、目尻の際に少しつけてぼかす様に塗ると、自然なアイメイクになります。まぶた全体に均一に塗ると、濃い印象になりやすいです。 Hair and Make up artist Ai Sakai says, “Let’s make her look like a career woman.” First Ai used a primer to make her skin look brighter. Then after applying foundation, Ai used a mixture of yellow and green concealer to cover the redness and darkness under Tomoko’s eyes. Lastly, use loose powder to secure all soft products. Ai Sakai says, “Base make up is very important to finish final look. How to create sharp eyebrows Tomoko always draws her eyebrows with an arch, which is why Ai says she does not look mature. Ai makes Tomoko’s eyebrows wider and straighter to make her look mature. She then shapes Tomoko’s eyebrows by making a straight body, then slightly narrowing down. Ai used wax, powder, and pencil type eyebrow liner to make originally narrow eyebrows appear wider. The first step is using pencil liner starting inside the eyebrow, and drawing in hair by hair extending outside the eyebrow. The second step is to use an eyebrow brush with a small amount of wax and powder to fill in any empty spaces. The reason for using the wax, is so that the make up will not wear off. Always remember to draw hair in one by one in all steps. Do not draw an outline and fill in eyebrows, because this gives an unnatural look. Secret to creating a mature look For people whose eyes are wide apart, using nose shadow on the sides of the nose will give eyes a closer effect. This technique makes Tomoko look mature. To create a nose shadow, use a medium wide round brush to apply matte brown shadow. Start on the inner sides of the eyes up to the beginning of the brows, and down to the sides of the nose to create a shadow. Tomoko’s droopy eyes make her face look soft and sweet. Ai applies shimmer brown eye shadow on Tomoko’s eye lids to make her eyes pop. Then she applies gel eye liner on the edges of her eye line to widen the outside corners of her eyes. After, use a pencil eye liner to blend in gel liner and eye shadow. Using sharp eye liner makes Tomoko look cool and like a career woman. Lastly, Ai used false lashes that were cut to 1/2 inch in size and applied them to the end of the eye line. For Tomoko, Ai applied the false lashes slightly above her natural eye line to make her droopy eyes look like cat eyes. First highlight the middle of the eyelids, then apply medium grey eye shadow on each side of the eyelids while blending towards the center. Apply dark grey eyeliner above the lash line to make eyes pop. Ai used pencil and liquid type of eyeliner. Mens Skincare Masahito’s skin is oily. Usually adult oily skin is dehydrated, so to keep skin hydrated use basic skincare such as women which is important. At night before going to bed, use daily face wash to remove all dirt from face. In the morning just rinse face with warm water. Do not use face wash because a certain amount of the skins natural oil is needed for moisture. Also, once or twice a week, use a face scrub which helps to turnover skin cells for over 30’s. After wash, use a towel to gently pat dry. Then use a cotton with a generous amount of lotion to pat the face until it has cooled down and has become moist (avoid beard area, and use hands instead). Quickly apply a generous amount of moisture cream between hand to warm up, then apply on face by pressing gently. This step is important because after patting lotion moisture has to be sealed in quickly, otherwise the skin will become even more dry because it was stripped of moisture from the inside and the surface. Camouflaging beard Masahito’s is self-conscious about his dark beard. Hair and make up artist Ai Sakai says, “Let’s use concealer to camouflage after shaving the beard.” Foundation can also be applied all over the face. Use base concealer that matches the skin tone and mix with a little bit of orange to cover the bluish color. To apply use a big round sponge by tapping the area softly (concealer can be bought at any drugstores cosmetic section). Now apply loose powder all over face to complete base. Eye make up is also important for mens make up. Lots of mens eye lashes are thicker and longer than womens, and lots of Asians have eye lashes that grow downward and straight which is why an eye lash curler is helpful. Use the curler to bring up the roots, and do not curl from the middle to the end which still gives a manly and natural look. Lastly, bring up the eyelid and use a pencil liner to draw inside the eye line to fill in. This technique gives a pop to the eye, and is good for people who present in front of others. Hair and Make up artist Ai Sakai says, “Let’s make her look like a career woman.” First Ai used a primer to make her skin look brighter. Then after applying foundation, Ai used a mixture of yellow and green concealer to cover the redness and darkness under Tomoko’s eyes. Lastly, use loose powder to secure all soft products. Ai Sakai says, “Base make up is very important to finish final look. How to create sharp eyebrows Tomoko always draws her eyebrows with an arch, which is why Ai says she does not look mature. Ai makes Tomoko’s eyebrows wider and straighter to make her look mature. She then shapes Tomoko’s eyebrows by making a straight body, then slightly narrowing down. Ai used wax, powder, and pencil type eyebrow liner to make originally narrow eyebrows appear wider. The first step is using pencil liner starting inside the eyebrow, and drawing in hair by hair extending outside the eyebrow. The second step is to use an eyebrow brush with a small amount of wax and powder to fill in any empty spaces. The reason for using the wax, is so that the make up will not wear off. Always remember to draw hair in one by one in all steps. Do not draw an outline and fill in eyebrows, because this gives an unnatural look. Secret to creating a mature look For people whose eyes are wide apart, using nose shadow on the sides of the nose will give eyes a closer effect. This technique makes Tomoko look mature. To create a nose shadow, use a medium wide round brush to apply matte brown shadow. Start on the inner sides of the eyes up to the beginning of the brows, and down to the sides of the nose to create a shadow. Tomoko’s droopy eyes make her face look soft and sweet. Ai applies shimmer brown eye shadow on Tomoko’s eye lids to make her eyes pop. Then she applies gel eye liner on the edges of her eye line to widen the outside corners of her eyes. After, use a pencil eye liner to blend in gel liner and eye shadow. Using sharp eye liner makes Tomoko look cool and like a career woman. Lastly, Ai used false lashes that were cut to 1/2 inch in size and applied them to the end of the eye line. For Tomoko, Ai applied the false lashes slightly above her natural eye line to make her droopy eyes look like cat eyes. This product is ideal for an emergency because it has a quick response time, although it should not be used everyday and instructions should be read very carefully. First Ai used lotion and cream to condition his skin, then she used primer (Photo Finish Color Correcting Blend) to avoid shine and to smooth skin. Lastly, she applied foundation and concealer to complete base make up. Well trimmed eyebrows First shape eyebrows and pluck unnecessary hairs by pressing roots while grabbing the hair. Then pull out hair in the direction of growth while other finger holds skin in the opposite direction, which prevents pain. For women who are on their menstrual cycle skin can be more sensitive, so wait until cycle is finished to remove hair. After shaping eyebrows, use eye brow pencil to draw in empty spots hair by hair making sure that both eyebrows have an even balance. (NOTE: Ai explains more about eyebrow shaping in one of her other columns #629 and #637) Tip on how to apply mens eye make up Puffy eyes need natural eye make up affect. First use an eye lash curler to bring up eyelash root slightly (if eyelash is brought up or curled too much, that will give a girlish look). When looking from a side view eyelashes look downward, so bring up anywhere from horizontal to a 45 degree angle. For a person that has droopy or puffy eyes, eyelashes should be brought up to 45 degrees which makes eyes look more open.
